My hen has strange fungus like growth on her comb/face - any ideas how to treat?

If it is simple dry pox, it will go away on its own in 3 weeks, after it runs its course. At that point, the bird will be immune for life. Of course, the lesions can become infected or spread to others through shedding.

If what looks like simple dry pox lesions, without secondary infection, do not go away in 3 weeks, then they were probably not fowl pox. If you feel your chicken has a fungus, oxine would be good, but you can also use an athlete's foot cream or ointment on them.

More about Oxine, if you're interested:

I faced the same problem twice. In my opinion use antibacterial cream on wattles and comb. I also gave them Variolinum 30 (Homeopathic Medicine) three drops in few ml of water for two days. These will become hard ad shed away in few days.

Unfortunately i lost all the pics of my girls along with my laptop.
