My hen has suddenly stopped walking fowards.

3 month old araucana hen has just stopped walking forwards.
she sits on her ankles and shimmies about, ive got her moving forwards for food but other than that she does not want to.
her legs are still strong and not paralyzed but she wont stand or walk normally.
any help?

Sounds like a vitamin deficiency. Try vitamin E 400iu one capsule per day and one vitamin B-complex tablet each day. If you're in the US, look for these in the vitamin aisle at Walmart and get the B-100 as it has the highest amounts of B-2, 6, and 12 needed for strengthening nerve connections. The E also helps with this along with neuro transmitters in the brain.

We dont have those in NZ but we have a B multivitamin thats water soluble called Berroca, its the same premise as aspirin water and same portions. it looks like the weakness starts at her ankles. we are keeping her inside away from other chickens who are all healthy and feeding her the enriched water and will look for vitamin E supplements ASAP. thanks so much for the reply really gave us some hope for her, shes such a lovely little thing and it would be heartbreaking to lose her .
P.S would a thick green smoothie for her to pick at be good? along with cooked eggs.

Absolutely on the green smoothie and eggs. Put a little sugar in the smoothie. Glucose will fuel the brain and you might even see some immediate improvement.
