So here is the story for a science project me and my friend hatched chicks. We only hatched two, boy and girl. I heard you needed three at least an so went out and bought another hen. We introduced her at night and the three of them get along very well.
Yesterday whilst laying an egg my hen from before started clucking in a stressed way and didn't stop even after the egg was out! I checked the entire garden for foxes and cats ( my rooster has a special cluck for when one is nearby- I originally thought this was the problem).
I am afraid I can't put a video up because I don't have a YouTube account, but it kinda sounds like this...BACAARK cluck cluck cluck BACAARK cluck cluck cluck and is repeated many times.

I know my explanation isn't great but has anyone else had this problem and if so how did you treat it?

Thank you!

That sounds like the "egg song." Has she been laying long? Sometimes they will sing before and after the egg is laid. Sometimes others will join in. It sounds a lot like how they sound when they see something dangerous as well.

Your explanation was great!

You have described the egg song, perfectly. It is not a problem, so there is no way to treat it. Enjoy your egg and your hens :D
