my hen is part time on the clock.whats going on?

I have a hen that's setting...or so I think.for last several days she has set from 7:30 a.m. to about 1:30 p.m.she goes on the roost at night.I haven't heard her cluckin. Is she ruining the eggs?

sounds like she is getting ready to go broody. They will sit on eggs for hours at a time after they lay, then go about their business for the rest of the day, until they fully go broody. No she isn't ruining the eggs. It isn't any different for the eggs than 6 or 7 different hens laying in the same box, all day long.
