One of my older hens, 1 yr 9 mos, easter egger/ barnvelder, has runny green poop, this was very thick and clumped near her vent. I noticed after she became somewhat lethargic. She eats and drinks but not as actively as she used too. She mostly just stands still typically in the sun, when she moves her head is down and she is very slow. I am in Colorado and it has been cold. I washed off her butt but have not trimmed the feathers, her vent looked red and irritated. When they are in the coop she is typically standing still in one of the nesting boxes. I have nine hens and they have 15 nesting boxes, 80 sq ft of coop space and they free range my half acre yard. All of my other hens are fine and normal. She has been like this for over a week. How do I tell if she is eggbound or if she has reproductive issue? Her crop was full last night and empty this morning. after I washed her butt I have had to clean it once or twice a day as she is still producing runny green poop. Any Ideas? What can I do for her?

If she were eggbound, she'd be dead already, so maybe another issue. But can you feel between her legs? Have you treated her for mites? What's her diet.

what am i looking for between her legs? I put ACV with Garlic in their water once a week,. I feed purina egg layer in their feeder all day. In the morning I give them black soldier fly larvae, scratch grains and some black oil sunflower seeds

Oh, yes. Your looking if you can feel an egg, any swelling or tightness. She may be getting too many treats, and that can keep her from absorbing nutrients of making it hard to lay.

i also feed them green veggies in the evening, cabbage, lettuce, zucchini, mustard greens and carrots. Occaissionally fruits
