I recently made a thread about this problem, but I decided to make it more detailed and give an update
Hope, my only laying hen, has not laid an egg in two weeks and three days.
Everybody keeps telling me possible answers, so here are some hints:
1. She is not molting, at least she hasn't lost her feathers
2. It happened BEFORE the time change
3. Its California, it doesn't get much colder than 50 degrees...
4. She has a normal behaviour as of right now, she was kind of resting the whole day yesterday except for at night, but shes completely normal
5. It hasn't rained or been super cold, just a little overcast
6. She doesn't seem sick, no sneezes, no nothing as long as her sister
7. Nothing has really changed at all so she couldn't be stressed
7. She gets out almost every day for as long as possible, though she hasn't been out in a couple of days because I've been busy, that will change
8. She loves being held, so I hold her and she's fine
So yeah, literally everything is just the way it has been, shes just not laying. Her and her sister, Hazel have become closer, that's it. Hazel does have one bird who hangs out with her, but Hope doesn't care. It's confusing and scary to me because I've only had chickens for about 5 months, but I've had chicken experience before. Please help!!
