my hens are croutching when i touch their backs what dose this mean?

my hens crouch when i touch their backs i have only gotten 1 egg and was wondering if this means they will soon be laying eggs.any replies are appreciated.

They probably think you are their rooster and want you to mate with them.

If they are getting old enough to do this, I would think they are old enough to lay soon.

It = eggs soon. It's how a hen *ahem* submits to a rooster for mating.

Give them some good pets and watch them fluff up and shake.

This is a submissive behavior. They are recognizing you as their flock king.
