My hens are sending me wierd signals

My hens have been wierd lately. When I reach down to grab them they
squat down, fluff up a bit, and lift their tale. They seem to do it more
when I grab their feathers on the back of their necks. They stay still
as I scratch their backs and when I'm done they get up, fluff up,
and light a cigarette. What does it mean???

That is their standard submissive behavior in response to a rooster who wants to mate with them. They think you are the rooster... it's their mating stance.

they are getting to lay eggs! My girls are doing this all the time now. 2 out of 7 have started laying.

I HAD a CHICKEN sex education lesson with my dentist today after getting my teeth cleaned/check up! SO serious was he...he's thinking about getting some chickens. I laughed the whole way home!

My goal: Make all my friends here laugh within the context of chickens
while not being obsene yet still being truthful.

They hens really are doing that. They are losing that skiddish behavior and
replacing it with "Hi Big Daddy" Bok.
