My hens won't incubate their eggs.

I personally don’t separate broody from the flock. I don’t know how many pet chickens you have, but it sounds like the two that could be an issue get along.

they are both —pet chickens and run free outside.

but there’s no space in the carton box to put some bowl there. do i need to take the chick out a couple of times a day so that it can drink?

yes i think i do have that food for chicks.

i’ll do the candle trick for sure!

THANK YOU!!!
Yes, move it a couple times a day so it can have water. Make sure it's not away from the mothers too long because it needs to bond with them. When all the chicks are done hatching, move the moms and the chicks to a new area where there is enough space for food and water. The chicks can go wherever the mothers can. They will teach the chicks their routine and protect them from the rest of the flock.

I see you have a cat on the kitchen counter.

The hens may not be able to protect the chicks from the cat. They need to be in a safer place or the cat needs to be kept away from them. As much as broodies will protect their chicks, they run about and a quick and stealthy cat will grab one of them. They will probably be ok with the cat when they grow bigger, maybe 4 weeks. You know your cat though.
