Good job. As far as temperature my gqf and my dickie will do the same thing it will be hotter in some areas. Your goal should be to get the temp right where the eggs are. Right now i am checking my temp in the front at the top and i am reading 102.4 on both the gqf and the dickey and i am haching probably 90% on time. My chicks are ready to go in the brooder in 21 full days. I know people say that's too hot but before i started adjusting my hatches were terrible they were late and hatching for 3 or 4 days also pipping and dying and bad legs and stuff. I think the bottom line is the top front is a hot spot because its not far from the heating element but if you check the middle tray it's perfect.

Thanks for all the hints and suggestions on how to fix the temp problem. Do I need to seal the wood even if I used pressure treated wood?
