My homemade noodle drying rack....pics

Wow. I have been playing with the idea of making my own pasta- so can I cut this in any shape and serve with sauce? Or is it not pasta noodles? I am confused. But I like the rack, I love the post and I can't wait for an answer!

You can cut it any way you want.

I make my chicken/beef and noodle noodles with this recipe, making super wide noodles and some that are about 3/8" wide (this thickness would work great for alfredo, etc., my thin spaghetti (that just gets pressed thinner), and I also make a fat spaghetti noodle. So, yes, it is a pasta noodle

I struggled with drying noodles too, it can very easily consume the entire kitchen.

What I use is the side railing off of an old baby crib. It has all the bars there, and I just place it on top of the taple with a bucket under each corner to hold it up.

Home made pasta, not I am in the mood to make some...

Wow! That's an excellent idea. Tons of spindles to dry on! I would have to get it up high enough to be able to lay pressed noodle dough under it though... I love monopolizing that space!

On the crib rail--excellent!!

...noodles are noodles no matter how you cut them...it's just that HOW you cut them and how THIN you roll them is the difference between lasagna, spaghetti, angel hair, wide noodles, etc. The recipe is the same no matter what

OK-thanks-for some reason I thought there was a difference between the pasta for spagetti and the pasta called egg noodles other than its shape. I make egg noodles but and they are very yellow and I cook them with chicken or beef soups/stews. I don't know that they would be good with a spagetti sauce over them.

After seeing this thread in the recent posts for the past few days, I decided to check it out...and I'm so glad I did! Wow...how interesting!

I've never tried making noodles before, but now I think I'm gonna have to try it. I bet my 4 year old would love helping me "design" the noodles, too!

Thanks for the recipe and drying rack ideas...I'm staying tuned in for more.

Oooo - this is an Awesome thread!! I have to say, the noodles hanging on the hangers touched my heart. I think it is a precious idea. And Bravo on the noodle drying stand - it is so very clever!!

My grandmother used to roll out her dough to the desired thickness, then roll the dough up and slice it into thin strips. Then she would unroll it and dry it. I am going to try it I think. This thread has certainly inspired me that even I can make noodles at home.
