I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I have a '94 AQH mare named "M.C." I had her since she was 5 going on 6 and she has truly been my best friend (has that dog-like attitude too) and I can not imagine my life without her. She has been with me through thick and thin, so I understand the pain of losing that connection. Just hang in there and know that now he is free from his pain. 28 yrs is a long life for a horse and I'm sure you made his life wonderful for him.

Hello again everybody,

Just wanted to say thanks once again to everyone who took the time to post their condolences. I appreciate each and every one of them, and I am proud to be part of a community of so many kind and good people.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss. I have a 21 yr old mare who's the mother of 2 of my others, I can't even imagine losing her.

I'm so sorry about your loss. My family knows what your going through because we also had to put our horse down on Monday night due to colic.
At least think about all the good years Nipper had, and how many of them were with you. Our horse, Scout, was only 5 or 6 years old. We had only had him a little over a year but he was my dad's horse and one of the family. Our two mares miss him terribley.
