How funny! Way to go hubby!

I noticed your from Rockport, I just love rockport and us to spend many summers down there. Great place to live.

Glad we can all laugh together. And yes, I do love Rockport. Great birding and fishing. We live in a subdivision in the county but we have some acreage on the back bay about 3 miles from the house. Thats where the rescue chickens, cattle, barn cat (and one aligator that has got to go!) and the soon to be aviary are located. Every animal we own is so rediculously tame, it is embarassing. When we drive in, the chickens run as fast as they can chasing the truck, usually followed by the cattle t(hat eat from our hands and want to be scratched behind their ears). If you throw in the cattle egrets running down the road chasing the cattle, it looks pretty funny. Maybe I should video it for AFV...

I don't think it's a good idea when your spouse treats you like a child (ie: not Letting you ), so I just tell my hubby exactley what I am doing and he can't stop me. He is not my daddy and I'm not his mommy. The key here is to pick a spouse that won't choose to do anything you really can't stand. lol

My husband of 10 years didn't bat an eye when I started talking about chickens on our new 10 acre farm. He even helped build the coop! I guess he figures I could be raising more horses, so this is better. I guess i better let him have his goats:D

This is quite true. My DH would never be shy about expressing his opinion, but we know each other very well; neither would deny the other anything we really wanted.

Ha!! DH HAS a Harley... so when/if he starts with me, I always say something like "When I spend as much a month on my chickens (and horse too) as you do on that Harley .. come talk to me ...

This won't work for me I have a harley too!

But, DH loves the idea of more sustainable lifestyle, so it's easy to add birds when we need too.
