My indian runner duck has mucus coming from beak... How to help him!!!??

I have a male indian runner duck who had mucus coming from his nose. And i noticed it is very soft around his nostrils is this something i can help him with at home without visiting the vet? (due to low income) please help! Thank you.

Probably! Just make sure he’s eating and drinking. You can probably find some simple stuff you can use online

Does he have deep water to dunk his head? Even sometimes when ducks have access to deep water, they don't always clean themselves super well. I would give him a deep like warm bath to encourage proper cleaning of his nares and eyes. I would also take a look in his nares and see if there is anything there or any irritation.

If you don't see any improvement with just baths, you can try an antibiotic. You may be able to get some at your local TSC depending on where you live. Otherwise, you can get it online. Doxycycline is my go to for respiratory. Even if you don't use it, it is definitely worth having an antibiotic on hand when you need it.
