My Ivy.. Latest Relapse...She's Gone

Cyn, I so hope and pray that Ivy and Violet can turn around. But, if it is not to be, I can't think of anywhere else on this planet that your girls could possibly be in better hands than they are right now! They are truly lucky birds to have a momma who cares so very much about them.

I'm happy to hear that your Dad is doing much better. UTI's are no laughing matter at any age (I know, I used to have a history of them!

) and especially in the elderly and in the heat of summer! I hope he continues to improve. Give him a big glass of lemonade when he gets home, plop him on the porch and tell him to just relax and watch the chickens!

It's therapeutic!!

Like LunaChick said, I just don't know how you keep your chin up under such adverse conditions! You hang in there lady! I hope that things overall improve in your little corner of the world. Please keep us posted on Ivy and Violet. In the meantime, I'll say prayers and keep everything possible crossed for good things to come your way!

The good news is that my only remaining hatchery RIR hen, Reba, is doing very well. She started laying again, so it really was her molt that was keeping her off the nest. She just got her tailfeathers back and her weight is good, too. Ginger is still not laying, in addition to Violet and Ivy.

Ditto dear lady! Ditto!

How are Ivy and Violet today Cyn? I just wanted you to know that I'm thinking about you and the girls.

Hopefully, all of these good wishes and good Karma are having a positive effect on you, your girls and you father! Whenever you get a chance, please let us know how you all are.

I don't know why I inspire anyone. I'm just as helpless to do anything for my girls as any of you would be.

Violet is worse off than Ivy, seems to me. She moves very slowly and has that blank look in her eyes, rather zombie-like. I pick her up and she seems just limp and light as a feather. Ivy is the same except her color isn't purplish yet.

Will have to call for an update on my dad today. He keeps saying he's fine, but I need to talk to my sister to get the real scoop on him.
