Had to comment on this one. I'm so glad not to be the only one completely besotted with wattles...

No biscuits for you Levi..you bad bad horny toad of a boy! Tell Ivy to hang tight...biscuits are coming! Sweet sweet girl. Livvie can have some too.

Serrin, no female in their right mind could resist big red wattles. They just scream to be rubbed and kissed on. Thor tolerates my wattle obsession rather well...he will doze off when I rub them and talk to him. They seem to love it really.

Beth, rest assured that should I end up face planted with Suede on my back laughing...I too shall be laughing at myself.

The plan....arrive, unload goodies, have some ice water and chat with Cyn and Tom, run goodies out and begin spoiling...carry Gypsy...continue to spoil....continue to carry Gypsy...

More drama in the coop today. Drama, oh the drama! What is up with these birds?? I think the heat is making them testy! Ivy and Shadow started a huge, feet a-flying knock down drag out fight. I was holding Gypsy and was putting her down to intervene when Olivia comes out of nowhere, runs between them, thunks Ivy on the head, then thunks Shadow on the head. Then, at that exact time, Levi decided to saunter over to the pop door. Olivia ran him out of the door. He missed the ramp entirely and flew out, LOL. They're all grouchy!

Oh, and at roost time, Shadow flew over from her special perch to beat up on Levi, who yelled and tried to get close to Tom for protection. The visual is priceless. Levi is about five times larger than Shadow, who barely is as tall as Levi's legs. The little princess can push her 1 lb weight around when she wants to! Then Nora was thunking him on the head and screaming. Poor Levi!

Oh, BTW, Ladyhawk, I asked Tom to check Nora who had been on the nest for hours. He came out of the coop carrying her. Apparently, she was sitting on a squashed egg and it was cooking nicely under there. Had to hose her off and change the nest materials. So, I'm not sure she's really broody or what. Time will tell.

ETA: She IS broody! She went back to a nest tonight, shoving the teenagers aside and settled down in a huge ball of grouchy blue fluff! Now what? A BYC member was going to take her on June 30 or so, but he only has room for 4 birds in a small coop, not a bunch of chicks. And if she doesn't hatch chicks, she may not lay for weeks anyway. Obviously, there are no soft egg issues because there won't be any eggs!

I just have Thor shaking doggies by the neck and trying to attack the lawn tractor ... that stuff is normal isn't it?

I have a question.... ahem

What the hell is going on down there in your coop?

I mean Nora losing her mind, Ivy and Livvie fighting a 1 lb princess, the baby roo getting his butt kicked, Suede lying around acting dead to ignore all of it....what next Cyn?
