My Ivy.. Latest Relapse...She's Gone

Cheyenne is a beauty- you may have to keep your guns handy when the boys show up, Cetawin- especially if her magic ways with taming chickens works on the opposite sex!

Cyn, I will remember that- someday you may find me and several bags of gorgeous black stuff at your doorstep!

Serrin- sounds like your Chief is a great roo, making sure his women get the best of everything!

Thank you, wingnut. I just hope that when all of my hatchery stock has passed on, it will be years before I have to deal with internal laying/egg peritonitis again. After Ivy, Ginger and Lexie pass, I will have only two originals of the ten. I do have three other hatchery girls, two Brahmas and my two year old banty Cochin. The two Brahmas have had no egg issues at three and a half years old, but the banty, Shadow, has had a minor prolapse and been eggbound, probably due to her extra-small-for-a-banty size.

Oh yes why do you think I target practice with coyotes, coons and other predator type critters? I prefer them running as well...I want to at least give the boys a chance to run.

Cyn...I must tell you about your grandson.... I have been shuffling the quaratined gang around...DeDe is now a resident of the coop, Baize and Ebony are still in their large dog crate and Hera has now replaced DeDe in the crate beside Baize and Ebony....well the porcelains met Hera on her way downstairs and my little cockerel danced for her...she just looked at him like he was demented. Then she met Baize and Ebony.... Baize did a little dance for Hera, she was unimpressed as was Ebony who promptly thunked Baize on the head. hahahahaha

So, meanwhile, Casca is being kicked out of his crate and the 3 porcelains are taking it over. hahahaha

I need to get some small coops built and the modifications on the large coop done...I need DH to get his backside home so I can do it.

So, the MIL and I went shopping this morning...*sigh* I am not ashamed to admit I was considering gagging her with a nectarine and stuffing her into a frozen food compartment but too many witnesses were around. Maybe next time. hahahahahaha

This is how it starts, slowly, soon the only thing that compares to your new bird is another new bird, so you get more. And it begins. Before long you begin to wonder why you even bothered raising common chickens when there were all these special breeds available to be had. They don't tell you this at their breed club sites. So tread carefully, for it is a slippery slope you traverse indeed.

When you finish those, you can come up and build three of them for me. Just small simple affairs so that I can keep those three lunatic boys of mine separated and maybe even give them a small handful of girls for each of them to keep them happy. Then maybe we'd get some peace and quiet around this place!

Come on! Ya know you want to!!!

Serrin...I can do that...you got tools? That is what I need hubby for...to find and unpack his tools so I can get to building.

I think he will find the tools quickly to stop me from shopping...if I cannot work on my coop I will work on the house....I bought 2 recliners and a diningroom table today...
