My Jersey has something wrong with feet or foot.

Hi, I have a nice very nice Black Giant Jersey who recently stopped perching and is walking as if his foot or feet are hurting him. What kind of things could be wrong? And what of things should I be looking for when I look tonight when he settles for the night. He's a good rooster and very good to his girls I really hope its not something bad.

Check the bottom of his feet to see if there is a scab or callous. He could have bumblefoot. You also want to make sure that his roost isn't too high. Sometimes the heavier brids can hurt themselves when they jump down from a high roost. Post pictures of his legs and feet (particularly the bottom of his feet).

Sounds like bumblefoot. Turn him over and see if it looks like a scab on the bulb of the foot.

Is there a cure for that. I do have too different roosts a ladder type and 3 that are pretty high but he never had a problem before and he doesn't try to roost on the ladder style one.

Okay so me and the BF inspected his feet really good opened all the webbing and looked at bottoms of feet pressed on them felt legs and everything, did not even find a scratch. Any other suggestions, We tried to introduce a roo that is driving us crazy with the crowing. (in an attached garage under living room) And the Jersey was having problems kicking his a@@. It still looked like, when he jumped up it was hurting. (we did put the young roo back we didn't want any fighting) So now back to square one. I don't want to remove him from flock, seeings how all the girls would follow or miss him bad. He is the protector of the coop, against our EE roo who doesn't have any manners with ladies.
