My King/Button Quail pop when they lay their eggs? Is this normal?

Today I was actually there when my girls layed and it was the funniest

thing I have ever heard. One would go behind the bush to their shared nest and a few minutes latter !!POP!! like a cork comming out of a champaign bottle. Then both the other girls proceeded to do the same thing.
Has anyone else experience this? It was quite funny - did not expect it at all.

Sounds cute you should get a video of it. I have never seen that in all the time I have had them bet it is cute

Hi citalk2much,
I will try to get at least a recording. I think it would be great on youtube or something.
The quails started to play football with some of their eggs this morning

so I rescued 9 of them and brought them inside. I made an incubator. I have had it on a few days just incase. Steady temp at 95 and 70 humidity. On a normal themometre its 101 - weird how that works. Made it out of a small square fish tank, fish tank heater that goes to 110 and just other stuff lying around. Saw some on the net and thought - I could rigg something up with excess pet stuff laying around. Since this is my first time incubating, I have put numbers on three sides of each egg so three times a day I will turn them and put all the same numbers up in order.
What do you think citalk2much - is there anything else I should be doing?

They measurements you use confuses me here I would run a still air at 101 with the humidity at 45ish for 13 days then on day 14 up it to 65ish stop turning the eggs and wait they tend to hatch around day 16 thou I have had them hatch sooner and I have had them go pasted 20. Days crazy things
