I was out sick today with the seasonal crud, as my doctor called it. Sitting inside bored and coughing up a lung, I got the random urge to draw a big, detailed picture (to hopefully be good enough to sell so I can get some money for the birds ). We have a whole stack of this really long paper (it's only 12x18 ) so I thought, what better to draw on a tall piece of paper than a tall bird? At first I wanted to draw a Great Blue Heron, but couldn't find any decent pictures of them standing straight. So I settled for a picture of a Purple Heron, which I don't know that I've heard of before...but...after an hour, I finally ended up with this:

It's in a black frame now matted with blue cardstock. Everytime I look at it, I see something wrong or something I could have done better

Yeah I've been told I can be pretty harsh about my own work. But I guess that comes from drawing my whole life. I'm always trying to do better than last time.
But what's weird is...I draw much less than I did a few years ago, but it seems like everytime I do take the time to sit down and draw now, it turns out great. Kind of kicks "practice makes perfect" in the butt

That is so beautiful. I wish I could draw. But never had that much of a desire. But I love looking at other peoples drawings.

GREAT JOB!!! Hope you auction it off. Blessings and hope your feeling BETTER.
