My lavender marans?

This baby was a surprise in my breeder order. Assuming he or she is a lavender marans, because they don’t offer many other breeds that fit this look. I’m puzzled at the black beak, comb and feet. Other lavender marans I see have lighter features? This is Sapphire, born around May 5 so about 4 weeks old! And do you think male or female?

Marans have pink skin, it may have have silkie or another melanistic breed

The black facial pigment might fade later on. Another possibility is that this variety may still be in the project phase, so the desired characteristics may not have stabilized yet. I hadn't seen lavender Marans before this.

It does not look like a Marans to me, feet and shanks have way too much feathers and the skin colour is wrong also.

This little one may be some kind of project melanistic mix like Cochin x Ayam Cemani or Silkie x Ayam Cemani F2 or similar.

I’ve seen Blue Marans with very dark faces. I wouldn’t assume this isn’t a Lavender Marans and it looks like a pullet so far
