My Leghorn has not laid for 4 or 5 days.

My egg production has gone way down during the last couple of weeks. My birds are doing a very mild molt. . . . I am noticing fuller feathers on their bodies and just a few feathers on the ground. They never went BALD like others describe, but they are getting more feathers in

Even my leghorns have missed a few days of laying, BUT they weren't looking or acting ill.

Nine days now and no eggs from her.

I noticed her night time dropping are a lot less then the others (white and yellow). The droppings don't have any green color to them and there is no blood or anything vastly different just less and some yellow.

There is something wrong with a leghorn who has not laid for this long. . . . .

If there have been no changes to the environment or additions to the flock . . . .

AND she is not acting broody (yes it is rare, but leghorns can go broody) . . . .

I suggest you open a new thread in the emergency section and get some more feedback.

It is concerning that she is not acting / eating right - - - - try posting in the emergency section to get more help.

Well, I think she is starting a molt. I went out yesterday and there were white feathers all over especially near the dust bath. When I looked inside the coop there were lots of white feathers up near the roost. She is the only white chicken we have. Therefore they are her feathers

I feel much better now. I hope that is all that it is - this is our first time with chickens molting. I'll let you know if anything else happens.
