Every time I darken the doorstep of the nearest Superstore, I get flashbacks to the Stuff Mart in "Madam Blueberry" (my kids watched Veggietales a lot). BB2K just rolls her eyes when I start humming the "Blue Danube;" she should be glad I don't go into the "Stuff Mart Rap" (Bungee! Bungee! Bungee-wungee-wungee here we go bungee! Come on!)

We were so good at not embarrassing our son, I did not want him to shudder in shame because he had to be seen with his parents. Then we realized that he'll be off to college soon and we have to hurry and get it all in .
Such fun!

Big Boy just called, he got his first turkey! He's so excited, it's actually his first hunting kill. I'll get to see pics on FB later, so happy for him.
Honey had planned to take the boys fishing this afternoon. I was saying how I'd like to have some fresh caught trout, and we came up with Red neck Surf and Turf...my guys will be eating turkey and trout tonight. Knowing them, both will be covered with our home grown bacon. Sounds like a feast no matter who you are! My mommas heart just hopes there's something green on the plate too, but I'm not holding my breath......

That's the one thing I've always wanted to hunt - I hunt elk, deer, rabbit and pheasant. I don't hunt ducks or geese, because I don't like them. If it's not going to go into a pan, it's not going into the back of my truck, either. Same with antelope - just don't like it. When I was growing up, we either grew it and hunted and fished for it or we went without. Not many ways Ma didn't make that stuff, and everyone else loved it. I forced it down, but that was out of necessity. ("You clean that plate or you'll have it for every meal until it's gone!") Loved the fish - not too many ways to mess up walleye! Yum!
