I honestly believe that the funeral business is a racket that preys on grieving people who aren't always thinking straight. It seems like they want you to feel like you're not honoring the deceased properly if you don't get the top of the line everything. There is a place near here that makes wood caskets. That would be my choice. Much less expensive than the ones the funeral home sells. And, it's OK if the grave liner leaks. I'm not gonna care.
I didn't even think about that. For who's lifetime is it guaranteed? And how will one know if it fails?

BINGO!!!!!!!!!! the only way you would know if it fails is if you DIG IT UP!!!! and unless they put in something like a highway or lake when do they move graves? unless they suspect foul play after the fact and want to examine the body later (although I wanted an autopsy because I felt the dr was at fault in his death and again my brothers blocked me)....
I have issues with my mom's side of my family, and i think why the autopsy was nixed was because they don't want to admit that maybe someone else may be my father or they just wanted to mess with me. my brother's take after mom's side and to say they are scum, I would be insulting scum to the point I would lose sleep over it for at least a decade,,,,, at his funeral 3 of my mom's brothers got the funeral director to ban me from being a pallbearer and the one that headed up the veto told me that they where more related to him by marriage than I was related to him. They threatened to have me banned from the service because they should have a say since they were "more related" to him and I was being "mean and nasty" because I wanted a say in my biological father's funeral.
