My leukemia's back.

Sour, how's your beagle that was sick doing?

So far so good. He's showing slight lameness in his right hind leg and is somewhat subdued, but I expected worse. Decrease the dexamethasone by 50 % on Tuesday. I'll see what happens then. If he continues to appear okay, I will gradually start transitioning him back outside.

Maybe he'll feel a bit more chipper and less subdued once he can get back outside. Do you suppose the lameness will eventually go away?

I'll be calling the vet on Monday. It may be prudent to start treating him for Lyme disease.

Even if the lameness is neurological in origin, it might, once the cause is taken care of. I have a horse that was treated for EPM (a neurological problem caused by a parasite). One of her symptoms was a vague sort of hind-end lameness, but to see her now, you'd never know she'd had a problem.
