That is true. In fact I would venture that all are eligible for SS, at least early SS at age 62. They stopped drafting in '72 (1953 birth year) , authority to induct expired June 30. I don't imagine many people were volunteering in '74 when I was 18.

True. But looking at the picture Ron posted of his uncle, I'm guessing Vietnam was his first war.
Yes, it was! Two of my Uncles were of draft age. I am sure they were in the war before 1975. Closer to the beginning in think. They were both back by 1975.

I just saw the obituary and he was 70. I am sure smoking cigarettes contributed to a shorter life for him.
