Everyone knows the story - Jerry was a friend of all of us, and they were all saying, "He's here seeing it." But I couldn't see him.
I went off by myself and cried a little bit. I'll see his family on Tuesday, and will most likely become emotional again when I present them with his ribbon and win money.

Jerry always used to call me 'Squirrel'. I asked him why, and he said, "Because you're a squirrely little bugger." I replied, "But no one else calls me 'squirrel'." His reply - "Because they are scared of you. I'm not."

Ha!

Last year on this day, I posted a photo of our mountains from my front window stating that there were fall colors starting to show up. Not seeing any today. With all the rain we've gotten this year, it may be another couple of weeks. Love seeing the colors on the mountains. Going up into the canyons is really pretty. Fall..it's coming!

Sharing this here too...Man, when it rains it pours. We've been having the gas company come out because we..and neighbors are smelling gas. Guess we have a gas leak underground. Not a biggie to worry about he says. Well, after using his probe, and really getting into the ground, he says he's pretty sure he found it. Would have someone come out. We finally decide to turn our sprinkler on. He found more than just a gas leak, he found a sprinkler pipe. . Didn't know, a neighbor came to tell us we had a gush of water blowing up. I thought we had a broken sprinkler head. Nope. So hubby and I are walking around to go see where this was..had the water on, and yep, out of the ground it was coming. Plus...we could really smell gas! More than ever before. Called. A guy is here now. He was smelling it often too. Not the same kid. On another scary note...I had seen add of a guy cleaning out dryer vents, they clean into the wall too. If none of you have thought about it...look on YouTube. Scary. Come to find out, our plastic vent is not a good thing. Need that silver kind..plus, went outside, to find out, that it had seperated! It's been blowing lint into the ceiling area of the basement. Coming tommorow to fix that all up. Sure glad I called. Fires are started numerous amount of times through the year because of clogged dryer vents. Get yours cleaned!..................

I'm worried about my trees! They said they would replace them if one dies. They are coming to tear up the sidewalk..I know those roots are out that far.

I clean our dryer vent every Fall. It will be time to clean the vent pipe again soon!

Our dryer vent is easy to clean out, straight shot out the wall. Not the case with the old house.
