My leukemia's back.

Rachel....that is the best ever news!

So very happy for you...have a magical Christmas...

Bet you are laughing now about the peanut butter...why not wrap a few jars up in Christmas wrapping paper and give it to the guys on Christmas day?

All the best!

My bone marrow's still clear--no leukemia creeping back!

Now the word is they have three donors to choose from, and drew more blood to do some fine-tuning tests to see who is the best match. I feel so blessed that so many folks have signed up to be donors and are willing to do this for a complete stranger.

praying for a perfect match and a complete cure!

Rachel, could the news get any better for you? I think not. Praise God. He has you firmly in his hand!

Now, regarding the peanut butter. Totally understandable. I swear kids are half blind. They can be looking right at something and not see it. So, then it becomes important to ... get an other one. My 8 y.o. somehow manages to go through 4 or 5 pairs of socks/day. I'll look at her feet, and she'll have just one sock on. I'll look in her boots, and find 4 socks crammed into the toes of each boot... none of those socks match! So, I'll tell her to go find her missing sock. She'll wander down the hall, and perhaps come back 3 times, still missing a sock. She forgets where she was going... then, she'll shuck that one sock off, go in her room and get an other pair of socks, both of which don't match, because there are 8 more orphans in her boots! Peanut butter... we have 2 jars going at the moment. One says "L- - - - - - " and the other says, "NOT L - - - - - - ". Because I caught her double dipping in one jar. (YUCK!!! to the Nth degree!) Of course, I wonder how many other jars she's double dipped into! Then, there's the grocery shopping without a list. I live in the country. Any trip to the grocery store is about 40 minutes round trip, an hour to go "to town". So, my goal is to NEVER run out of anything, which means that if you go and leave your list on the table, you're at the mercy of your feeble mind to come back with what you actually need. And, since I can't remember, the motto becomes: I can't remember what's in the fridge, so I'll get it anyways. Besides, it's not a bad thing to have extra! UNLESS, carrots cross my mind often enough that when I come home with a 3# bag of carrots, and go to put them away, only to find that there's already 8# of carrots in the fridge!!!

lazygardener, Glad to read that! I'm not the only one.
We currently have six large jars of unopened peanut butter, because when I get to the store I forget if we need it or not, I do not eat it, so I ask the mustard blind family members if we have any.

They always say,'I dunno." so, hey I am at the store, and might as well.

The socks in the boots are funny. (You will laugh ...one day! promise!

I think the moral to these stories Donrae, is that we are either all normal or we are all crazy, but we are all in it together!

Wow that is super good news!!

Rachel, how are things going for you? Bet you and your family had a wonderful Christmas being home together! Anyway, I saw where you were on the boards and wanted to say 'hi'.

So....I've had a cold for the last few days. Not the flu, not strep, just a plain old runny nose, mild sore throat, coughing sneezing cold. No fever. Kinda miserable, but nothing scary, right? They go on and on about getting to a doc if you're running a fever, so been taking my temp obsessively, and nothing. Drove clear to Portland today (did I mention it's 250 miles? One way? In case any of you've forgotten

). They look at me like I'm insane---I can't get chemo when I'm sick. I was packed, ready to stay for a week, and now they tell me to go home and try again in a week. Seriously? For a simple cold......

. This is when I hate having this. I mean, I'd be working with this, just mask up and take some drugs and deal with it. But now it's this big thing.....Grrr.

Funny thing, though---when I was packing last night, my Roscoe dog knew what was happening. I swear he quit speaking to me, as only a dog could do. He was quite shocked to see me come home tonight and gave up the silent treatment right away....how could I stay away from this face?

So, home to rest, drink fluids, and keep an eye on my temp for a week. My boys are thrilled cause they have another week of break, so I'm home for that. I'm just disappointed I'll be away for honey's first week of school, I'd wanted to be home for that....

Rachel,

Sorry to hear that you have a cold and your treatment has been delayed...

However, you can spend more time with your beloved family...and that gorgeous dog...! Get well soon!

Happy New Year to you and yours!
