I bet!!! No one needs that sort of stress. Least of all your grandson. I hope the teachers get a LOT of stress, they more than deserve it.

My son started walking with a walker at the age of three, then to crutches, then by middle school he was in a chair. He did so much better, should have put him in a chair sooner. He was really struggling with the arm crutches for a while. Spina Bifida. Open spine. The spine did not close in all the way. It's in different area for different babies. Richard's is in the L 5 area. That's the lower back. When the baby is born, the spinal cord is exposed..open. Nerves weren't developed normally. Some weren't at all. It's according to where the opening is, as to where they are paralyzed. His was low..so hip and legs area. Some are higher, includes damage from waist down..you get the idea. He was also one of the lucky 10 percent that didn't need the shunt. The other 90 need a shunt, for spinal fluid build up in the brain. A lot of kids do well with the shunt. Smart folks around with it in. Think about it, spinal cord not normal..often times means spinal fluid not flowing normal. Shunt helps it flow right. ...There, a short class on Spina Bifida..with mylomenengicele. My son knew a boy with Spina Bifida in the classroom using crutches. When they graduated from grammar school, his friend was in a wheel chair.I confess I don't really know much about it and could stand to learn.
Cynthia I had my mammogram this year and do so annually.
My mother had breast cancer at 65 and wouldn't take radiation or chemo. It was estrogen dependent . It had spread to a lymph gland She only took tamoxifen. Was on it for 11 years. Came back and had spread through her body. THEN it came out that using tamoxifen for more than 5 years, actually caused enhanced recurrence of the cancer. She died at 77.
My sister had a rare form of breast cancer(they claimed) at 36,thank G-D she is 76.
My father's sister died of breast cancer at 65. Who knows how many ancestors never were tested because "it," was not a "thing" way back when.
I am well...Hey Phil, it has been awhile. How are you?
