My leukemia's back.

That's because she knew a good thing when she saw one

Ah, youth, where hast thou gone? I had just turned 16 two months before when I met Ken. Six days later I had my diamond. Dad made us wait a year until Ken got back from Viet Nam. So two months to the day after my 17th birthday we were married. Been almost 48 years.

Honey and I were both "old" by your standards, we were 21. Thought we were so grown up and ready, whatever that means. Now, as my boys are teens and I'm looking at crushes/girlfriends as potential daughters-in-law........I'm thinking how on earth can these boys make a decision like this themselves? I'm becoming a fan of arranged marriage

We have had some talks about choosing a mate, though. My firm rule to them is...." No Dumb Daughters-in-Law". I'm serious. Sugar Monkey could maybe skate through life with a less than intellectual bride, but he'd be bored out of his mind. Big Boy, though, he's going to need a smart, pushy woman to have his back. Echo--I'm not as sure, but his long time girlfriend is a horse girl, so that gives her bonus points to me

Well we wereBAD kids...But we raised good ones. My wife was 16 when our oldest was born. Now he's a hospital director (what ever that is he started as a BSRN...Then he was a nurse manager again I don't know what that is either). And he just spent more money than I've ever seen having a house built in Traverse City....so I guess we did alright. The other two kids are just as terrific...

No such thing as a simple mechanic. And any parent who's kids are productive members of society should be bragging them up. Mama told me to not date any guy who I wouldn't be happy being married to. Evidently, I took her advice to heart. I married the first guy I ever dated! We started dating when I was 15, got married when I was 18. 41 years coming up next month!

Next month what date? Mine is the 16 th...My wife complains cuz it's the second day of deer season...But when we got married we were city kids and I didn't deer hunt....Now deer season is a holiday all its own.
