Can I brag this one up? She went from being our granddaughter to being our foster child, to being our ward, back to being our granddaughter when we let her move back with her dad, then to a runaway whose picture was on the missing and exploited childrens' website, to a jobless, homeless, high school drop out. Then we went back to South Dakota and forced her to move back here with us. Within a month she had a job, her GED, and was back to being her old self. She was married a year ago and asked her Grampa to walk her down the aisle along with her dad. As she put it, "Dad gave me life, but Gramma, you and Grampa saved my life."
Today Little Diane turned 21. And she's gorgeous, smart, industrious, compassionate, and an absolute riot to hang out with. So proud of her.
The worse couple of months of my life.
Came to live with us in September and by October this was in her hands.
Grampa and her dad walk her down the aisle.
Kendra is her special buddy. Little Diane wanted Kendra to be her flower girl, and they danced at the reception.
You can put her in a lovely gown, but you can't take the silly out of our Little Diane. Look at those EYES!
All grown up, and so lovely! We are so proud of her.
