My leukemia's back.

Guess who went fishing tonight and forgot his jacket. Froze my butt off...I was wearing a sweat shirt so I toughed it out. Was 49 degrees and windy...brrrrrr...Blooie nice story.....I grew up in an alcoholic household...I kinda missed out on innocent fun.....But I still probably have a few funny stories somewhere in my foggy memories...But I've gone back and read some of your other writings and you do write very well..My daughter is the same way...she's studying medical laboratory science....But I really think she should be a writer.....way to go...

Oh, I can relate to the alcoholic family life - both my parents were alcoholics but I guess we got lucky - they were pretty much jovial and happy drunks, but drunks nonetheless. By 7 years old I already knew how to talk the power company into not shutting off the electricity, and by 11 was fully in charge of making sure my younger sisters and brother got off to school on time and the littlest one off to the sitter before I left for school. Been there! But still and all I had a great childhood with siblings who are still my best friends and parents who loved us. Our home was always filled with lots of hugs and laughter, and if Ma and Dad suffered they kept it to themselves and didn't burden us with it. Ma started every morning off with a shot of Vodka in her coffee, then in the afternoon she went to work at the bar. Dad got off work, came home to supper, then went to the bar where he sat with her until she got off work. So me, Linda, Lori, Ron and Bev raised each other. Someday remind me to tell the story of my intoxicated dad shoveling the yard!

As for writing, well, I've told this story often times here. I had a stuttering problem. Dad (who was really my step-dad until he adopted my sister and I as adults) told me that what I had to say was important, and suggested I write down my thoughts and ideas. He promised if I'd write them he'd read every word, and he did. Gradually as my confidence increased my stuttering decreased, but my love of the written word was forever and solidly planted. I thank you for your kind words!

Now, you want to explain to one and all why you went fishing in Michigan without a jacket?

Well Blooie it was nice enough to wear a sweat shirt around the house and while I was doing my chores this afternoon. So I loaded up my boat and fishing equipment and grabbed my jacket and flashlight and set them on
the end of the couch then went to the little boys room....walked right past them. Drove to the lake....unloaded my boat and realized I forgot my jacket. And even though I only live a block away I wasn't comfortable leaving my boat unattended and driving home to get my jacket. Mind you I live in the sticks and everything would have probably needed fine. (On the same note Meth abuse is high around here) I decided to tough it out.
I caught another nice walleye dinner...But froze my butt off...haha that's life in Da U.P. Eh!!
If you ever want to see kinda what life around here is like check out the movie..."Escanaba by da moonlight"...with Jeff Daniels...really enjoy hanging out here......Phil

On a side note....Jeff Daniels wife is from Marquette so he's kinda a YOOPER (someone from the U.P. As opposed to some one from below the bridge we call them trolls)...Escanaba by da moonlight is both funny and silly

I posted this on the recipe section also, but anyone have a good sausage and apple stuffing recipe? Somehow a turkey made it's way to my refrigerator and I'm looking for something to stuff it with besides my go-to cornbread stuffing.

We're supposed to have rain the next two days, and I'm ready! The nice weather and Honey being off the last 3 days have led to a fair amount of outdoor work. It's good and all, but I'm ready for a relaxing day alone, and I do have some indoor projects to work on.

My first chick hatched from my new incubator! I set 9 eggs for a man named Gene. 5 never developed at all. 2 look like the were quitters. 2 made it to lockdown...1 little black chick cheeping away as I type

. The second one is pipping through the shell, so hopefully a chick in the morning. Not the greatest success rate, but I have no idea how the eggs were stored, etc. More to come at the end of the week

Well, not planned, but I have eliminated caring for my parents off of my list. Dad and I got in a very bad argument and I told him to either apologize or I was leaving and not coming back. He turned around in his wheel chair and faced the wall-sat there in silence for a minute, then started name calling all over again. He had no right to say the things he did to me, about me, about my husband and my son. I put up with all that I was willing to. I left there Saturday morning around 12am. Called my aunt to take over and she (his sister) said "He's not my problem". I assumed mom (step mom) would at least call me, but they are definitely in some sort of bubble together-along with the 1/2 of my family that coddles my pedifile cousin.

My brother has been caring for them since. He came over last night and apologized to me on how dad treated me. Idk why he is taking care of them, but he's an adult and it's his choice. Not going to fault him, just don't understand. My choice has been to never step foot on their property again. Never let them darken my door. Never answer my phone if they do call. I am done with them. I don't deserve to be called names and belittled. Dad has always been verbally abusive and chooses to see bad in others even though he-himself is a very bad one. He denies the affairs on my mom too, and mom has no self esteem so she is in total denial. So what if he only came home once a month....he was "working" on her house, helping the young, divorce' with her kids. LOL! It felt so freeing to leave there Saturday! Even better than when I moved out at 18 years old. Sorry to vent to you all.

In better news, contractors will be back here today. They will be painting the floor support boards with kilz and working on the kitchen. I'll be so happy when we can RELAX. (Does that ever happen?)

Got to get ready for work. You all have a wonderful day
