I'll want chislic too....and beer ! Whose gonna make the chislic? I'm wounded and weak. (Anyone buying that drivel?) The dietician I had to meet with last night was pretty impressed with my regular diet, until I got to the description of my two favorite foods - chislic n beer and pig cheeks with mashed taters and milk gravy. Good thing we were having this discussion on the cardiac ward!

Blooie, Blooie, did you give the dietitian a heart attack? Tsk, tsk. You oughta know better than springing such things on folks like that . . . .

Catheterization and stents may be old hat to you, but such things still sound pretty serious to the rest of us. Prayin' for ya.

I'll make the date squares, serve them up warm straight out of the oven with a glass of icy cold milk. Lots of fiber in those dates. And we all know how good oatmeal is for the heart. I don't put much sugar in them, honest!

Right now, I'm cooking up an other one of my 99 cent squash. This one is a Turk's Turban. Never had that kind before, so I'll have to let you all know how it was. We'll have some for supper tonight, and either freeze the rest or make some pumpkin pie, or some muffins or bread out of it.

My PCP kept asking if I wanted to sit down with a Diabetic Educator about my sugars. I declined, I already know what they would say..."healthy whole grains, low fat, lean meats, several small meals a day"....pretty much all the stuff I personally believe is making our country so sick and fat. So no, I don't need to do that. I'm getting my carb intake under control and things are doing much better, and I don't have to argue with anyone

Prayers will be going up for you tomorrow Blooie, for a successful procedure. Steady hands for your medical team and an easy recovery for you. Peace for your family, Ken especially.

Blooie, when DH was in recovery for quadruple bypass, they made me go through a nutrition class. I took notes even. The biggies for him were NO MAYO, NO FAT, NO SALT! His 1st meal after 7 days in icu recovery, I made him egg beaters with peppers and turkey bacon. As (usually) nice as he is, he.tried it, made a horrible face, and I won't tell you what he said:old. But, I don't fix that food anymore! I never salt food, but he pours salt on it even before tasting it:th

Prayers for you all today! We walked around the flea market yesterday & my back kept getting sore & more sore. When I sat down in the car, was very hard to get out, or feed chickens, take DD to church, pick her up, move at all. Ugh! Wish me luck at work 2day. It feels no better. Bad back. You all have a good day!

I take off a day and a half for flu and you all plan a road trip, a party, your diets and all. It doesn't pay to sleep on the job around here!

Just remember, you can't go to Eggsy's house without stopping at mine. I'll car pool down there with the rest of you! And ladders don't bother me, so I'll take the higher part of the painting.

Phil, that's awesome about getting the hatching eggs! Icelandics are such cool looking birds and they sound like the perfect thing for you. Keep us posted on how they work out!

JWB, hope your back is feeling better today. That can really lay a person low.

And of course @Blooie you know we're all here waiting to know how today goes for you. Sending lots of prayers and best wishes!
