My leukemia's back.

and prayers LG

Thanks for the prayers. I went to my eye Dr. today. He did as much of an exam as he could w/o dilating my eyes. Says that there doesn't appear to be any retinal involvement. In other words, it will either correct it'self or not. Typically, the neuro system learns to ignore the visual disturbances.

LG--glad there's nothing wrong with the retina. I imagine it's going to be annoying as all get out until things figure themselves out.

Normally I really enjoy my boys. But one has a shirt that says "I'm not arguing, I'm just explaining why I'm right".....and it's so true for him. The kid should be a lawyer or debater or someone else who argues for a living. The thing is, he comes by it honestly, Honey has the same gene. So they argue with each other. The problem comes when Honey's not here, and I'm anti-arguing.

. Anyway.....

I have one little blue Marans chick! Waiting to see what happens with the rest of them....

Got my Marans breeding pen set up tonight, with all the Marans hens in with Mel.

Let the littles free range a while today. The little Cornish cross are so cute running around!

I went out and worked with the horses for an hour or so today. Going to go out and ride with a friend on Thursday. I always forget how good horses smell!

Good morning everyone!

Rachel, congrats on the new Marans chick! Horses do smell good, have fun riding tomorrow.

LG, hoping it heals itself quickly.

Donrae, have a good time riding tomorrow. Sounds fun!

Phil, did you catch anything? Crappie and catfish are calling my name! Just haven't had time. Stupid work:/

I need to separate my specific breeds into breeder pens. Does anyone have pics of their breeder pen(s) set up? Have a great day!

Down to a single turkey egg. Went down this morning to check the babies under MHP, and found a chick I'd hobbled last night (to correct splayed) leg laying on the floor, stone cold. I tucked it in my shirt and brought it up, tossed it under the light in the bator. When I was putting it down, it opened it's beak. It is now breathing heavily. Hope it has the same recovery as Blooie's chick did. Red spots on it's toes where it had been picked by siblings. I think I'll bring the 2 "special" babies upstairs, so if they do get away from MHP, they won't be at such a chill disadvantage. The other hobbled chick is getting around pretty well, though has his moments of doing the "dead bug" position. There is one more who needs an orthopedic shoe.

Morning Phil.  YOu'll get your money's worth of enjoyment out of those waders.  Do they come with built in floatation in case you get swept down stream?  I hope you do use something for floatation!  Stay safe, and catch some big ones.

I'm asking for prayer for me:  Last night, I started having signs of vitreous detachment in the left eye (the latest one to have laser surgery).  Gotta call Opthamologist, and assume I need to go have it assessed.

My BYC people are always on my prayers.... LG.... Hope your eye is alright....:fl
Warning : You do not need to put teenage boys in
pickle barrels.

Around here, they seem to be pickled enough as is.

Good to see you Spook....:frow

I caught a bunch of suckers.... They were running so hard couldn't catch anything else.... Oh well I looked good anyway....;)

Phil, you need to understand something about horse people - horses are a drug, an addiction. They do something to us that no other animal can match. I can't imagine someone saying, "I smell like a wet dog - not that there's anything wrong with that," nor can I imagine the smell of chicken poop putting a smile on a person's face, but smelling like a horse is not at all offensive to a horse person. Yesterday, BB2K and I were in the grocery store, and she said, "I suddenly noticed that something smelled comfortably like animals; must be you, because I can't imagine anything else in here would smell like that." I laughed and admitted that I had been cleaning out the barn, so of course essence of barnyard would be clinging to me pretty powerfully. Poor warped child, she likes the smell . . . . oh, dear, what have I done to her.

Sorry to hear that you didn't catch anything worth keeping, but at least you had some entertainment while you were out there stylin' in your new waders!
