My leukemia's back.

anyone hear from suzie?

No, and that's concerning. May 11 was her last post, and she has not been on site in over 2 weeks.

Interesting in that a couple of days ago I indulged in 'old home town' nostalgia, and last night my child hood best friend called, said he would be in the area, and could he visit today. Heck yeah! We had a several hour laughter filled reminiscence - it was good. It still amazes me that within 5 minutes of 'catching up' we are still those 12 year old kids trekking the Sourlands.

My husband has a few friends like that.
I am glad you had the chance to visit!

Hey, Phil, give us directions, and we'll come back to visit.  :p

I can't my GPS isn't working....:/
Just popping in for a moment to say hi to everyone! Miss checking in regularly, supposedly my internet will be set up at home on Saturday so that will help.

No sad thoughts today my friends, it's a new day so let's make some new good memories! :hugs

That's impressive.
The only thing I can keep alive in the house are just the plants that die very s-l-o-w-l-y.

Oh we must have the same plants....:gig

Stopping in to say HI! Been on vacation.....you all know how vacation on a farm goes.

Clean the coop
Plant the garden
Clean the house
Fix this
Fix that
Paint
Clean
Clean
Clean
Cook
Nap (because I AM on vacation!)
Rearrange furniture
Yard work
Planting/moving plants
Purge out unwanted/unneeded stuff
Did I mention cleaning?

Ugh! I'm ready to go back to work!

Sounds about right.....;)

Glad you got that time ......:)

Good morning friends!

My mom's been looking for a rotary manual mower since my dad died. She has a tiny patch of grass at her trailer park and her cheap soul just can't stand to pay someone to mow it. But, the mower is a bit much for her to handle, and she's never mowed a lawn in her life. Literally. I don't think 75 is a good time to start. Anyway, I found a rotary mower on CL and Honey and I are going to go pick that up today. If I can make my momma that happy for $35, it's a no-brainer, right?

Then it's more chores around the place. That horrible heat wave broke, so it's tolerable to work outside again!

It's a no brainer, and I can understand her reluctance to pay someone to mow the lawn. Last summer the daughter and grand daughter stopped by one 85 degree day when I was mowing lawn. Daughter stormed across the lawn and said, "What's wrong with this picture - my 74 year old father mowing lawn in this heat?" I countered with, "What's right about your 74 year old father being able to mow lawn in this heat?"

Sour, glad DD was concerned for you. Hopefully she stormed on out there with a big cold glass of ice water, a hand towel and sunscreen.....right?

You all be careful. I'm going to stay up and see if I can spot the predator that got to a breeding pen yesterday. It had 2 hens and 1 roo in it. He is beat up, has blood steaks all thru his feathers, missing hunks of feathers, lacerations in his skin. Pen has feathers everywhere, and one of the hens had feathers ripped out. The predator literally broke some of her feathers off of her wings. The feather shafts have blood at the ends. She is so traumatized that she now has diarrhea and is acting traumatized. Some how my little white EE appears untouched. They are all in a different pen tonight. I've been staying up til 12am, setting alarm and getting up at 3am, going out on the back porch for a bit to make sure all is calm, then getting back up for the day at 5am. Poor DH, I have woke him up so many times to go shoot something.....last week we did get 1 raccoon & 1 opossum. That's approx 4 raccoons and 1 opossum. Hoping I find them before they come back for the flock. Tonight, every hour I am getting up & checking. I need a baby monitor or camera out there.

JWB--I sure hope you find whatever it is. Do you have traps out also? It's so frustrating to lose birds like that, especially good breeding stock.

I still have the hav a heart traps out. We had a couple borrowed snare traps, but I was worried about one of the neighbors dogs or cats getting caught in it. Our dog is a house dog. Cat free ranges during the day:D, but goes to her crate in the garage at night. Too many coyotes and predators to take a chance with her running loose. Someone suggested I get an electric fence. I'm going to check that out.
