That is awesome. They really love geodesic dome questions for those things -- I remember being on a team for a similar competition, though not televised, and getting a question about them too..........funny, that is the only thing I remember from that. That reminds me of the time my daughter was on a local television show called "High School Bowl" it was a student competition trivia show...... They asked who invented the geodesic dome.
No one knew..... Except my daughter when she blurted out the answer..... Everyone just looked totally shocked.
Oh, we played a LOT of MadLibs growing up -- SOOO much fun. I didn't know they still had them, now I want to go find them to use at Thanksgiving or Christmas when we have the family together......Blooie, have you ever heard of a game called Mad Libs? It's basically a few paragraphs on a certain subject, with key words left out of the sentences. If a person knows what a noun or a verb is, they can be called on to fill in the blanks, and the more random the word choices, the funnier it gets. It sounds like your mother would have been brilliant at it.(At our house, we still sometimes get a giggle remembering a game almost 40 years ago that involved " . . . . a deluxe, 3-speed chicken!")![]()
Scrabble is great, DH & I play that a lot. Dominoes are fun too (and no cards to lose)![]()
We play scrabble too --- though DH and I have a tendency to get a little competitive by the end of a game. Grew up playing a lot of board games.......good times!
Sorry, totally missed this before, wasn't trying to ignore you on purpose....... the kitchen is always a priority, lol.Hey there OGM! Can't say there are any big plans. DH got the kitchen just about licked into shape so we finally have some storage space in there...I need to get busy unpacking the moving boxes that have been piled up since May. But funny how other stuff keeps getting in the way (stuff like chatting on BYC, crafts, movies, etc.).
What about you, are you pretty much settled in to your new place now? Maybe you already said and I've just forgotten but what about your animals...were you able to take them with you when you moved?
We are mostly settled, yes, though there are still some boxes left to be unpacked -- mostly DH's stuff so not my problem. We brought the housecat and my dog - the farm cats were re-homed to a family we knew back in Indiana as I knew they'd never be happy as city cats since I'd have felt the need to confine them indoors. Sold off the flock - but will be restarting come spring as DH/FIL have promised to build me a great new coop and the landlords here are completely on board with the idea.
