Once we tossed some baby rats into the chicken yard and they went crazy for them!

Chickens are very good mousers for sure

I've seen my ducks stomp a few mice down.......they don't like to share their food

I've given my birds a whole pile of little mousies, and they just stand around and talk about them. Pathetic creatures, my flock! I've ordered some Buck Eyes, hoping that these birds will show the adult flock how it's supposed to be done.

I have heard that before about other flocks. Mine eat everything I put out for them. Sometimes they will look at it and peck it if it is something new but they do eat it eventually. Last new thing was beat greens.

I have a mix of Austarlorps, Penedesenca, legbar penedesenca OEs and some doking muts--along with chickens hatched from Trader Joes and Whole foods fertile eggs.

I do have some marans and pure Cream legbars too. They must learn from the more wild ones.

I spend yesterday in the ED. I have Influenza A. they wanted to admit me but I pretty much refused. I can do this at home......so, I'm going to hunker down for the next few days. You all take care.
