My leukemia's back.

Thanks.

I don't know if it's something going on, or we're just hitting that point for some animals. Sugar Monkey found our matriarch barn cat Peaches dead under a rose bush today. We knew she wasn't going great this winter, and it doesn't look like anything got her, she just curled up and died. I'm trying to remember how old she is, at least 10 I think. So, pretty old for a barn cat. Just stinks though.

That does stink Rachel -

Howdy guys.... :frow

I'm hopped up on 60mg prednisone right now.... Breathing took a digger. Hope everyone else is doing okay. Kinda slow here. But that okay is nice to have a thread slow down so you can catch up. I hate having to skip hundreds of posts.

. Bless your heart.

Well, it usually does the job, no matter how much we hate it.

I had a chest CT done on Friday, trying to see if there's something else going on they can treat.

Got two roosters butchered yesterday, and going to sell off 8-10 pullets/hens this afternoon. this week I'll work on getting the rest of the cockerels dispatched and setting up breeding pens.

We went to our new home group at church last night. It was a nice time, got to meet some new folks and I think it's going to be a good thing for us.

But....after we each shared a bit about ourselves, and of course I mentioned the leukemia, the host took me aside and showed me pictures of his son that died of leukemia. It really hit me. It's been my mantra all through this "Thank you Lord it's me, and not one of my kids". I simply can't imagine. I know there are folks here who have lost children to various causes, and I'm saying prayers for you all today. We expect to lose our parents, and we know spouses and siblings are kind of a 50/50 thing, but kiddos just aren't supposed to go first.

So, starting the day off kind of, well, subdued I guess.

On the flip side, if you want to freak out your teenage boys, come home and just bearhug them and try not to cry. They'll really get confused

Morning Rachel and everyone.

Rachel, I'm glad you shared your leukemia trial with the new group...it gave your host a chance to share his son with you. One of the worst things I've ever gone through was watching my parents try to deal with my sister's sudden death in 2001 (it was due to blood clots). For a parent to go through that horror is unimaginable, unless it happens. You gave him a chance to share with you and it gave him an opportunity to talk about his child. Too many people don't know what to say and so say nothing at all.

We truly don't know what we have until it's gone. Hug those boys and confuse them all you want.

Rachel. There's nothing more awesome than the power of a small group that grows and shares God's word together. We've been in so many small groups, and the lifetime friendship and sharing is impossible to describe if you've not actually experienced it. Enjoy the fellowship.
