My leukemia's back.

Hewwo all, I am doing the best I can. Three hours of sleep last night and off with the senior ladies today- I already want lunch and we didn't leave yet (for the mall). Mailed out my friend's birthday card a week early. Guess I got confused. I'll just say I wanted to be FIRST to wish her birthday tidings.

Good morning. If you need me, I'll be in the corner mainlining Vicks.

Hope you have an enjoyable day DD.

Sorry you're still under the weather Blooie. Sounds like we may need to stage an intervention!

Oh, Blooie, so sorry you are under the weather. There's been a nasty cold bug going around here recently that we all managed to take a turn with it, being sick is no fun, especially when you are the one trying to keep everyone and everything else going (ie YOU), be sure you take some time for yourself so you can rest and let your body do what it needs to do to get better.

Better early than late, right?
So for Valentines dinner.... I plan on grilling bacon wrapped tenderloin...... Grilled on a Himalayan Salt slab. Maple glazed carrots...... Garlic mashed potatoes.

Okay my wife scoffed at maple glazed carrots.... (i love em)..... Any ideas for a fancy vegetable?

Well, it sounds heavenly to me - maybe she should just skip the carrots, lol. Hope you figured out a good compromise, asparagus is always an easy one to make with a nice dinner.
When I cook carrots, i put a dollop of butter, some brown sugar and some nutmeg in the water. How bout roasted zucchini? I'll take just about any veggie I can get my hands on, except for okra. Roasted baby green beans? Fresh garden salad? With berries, or crunchy apple instead of tomatoes... a nice drizzle of balsamic dressing...

May have to try your approach to carrots -- not a fan of them myself, but DH loves them and I think he'd really like them that way!
Thanks.

I don't know if it's something going on, or we're just hitting that point for some animals. Sugar Monkey found our matriarch barn cat Peaches dead under a rose bush today. We knew she wasn't going great this winter, and it doesn't look like anything got her, she just curled up and died. I'm trying to remember how old she is, at least 10 I think. So, pretty old for a barn cat. Just stinks though.

Oh, Rachel, I am so sorry about Peaches. It sounds like she had a good life with you and went peacefully.

Howdy guys....

I'm hopped up on 60mg prednisone right now.... Breathing took a digger. Hope everyone else is doing okay. Kinda slow here. But that okay is nice to have a thread slow down so you can catch up. I hate having to skip hundreds of posts.

Absolutely - I was envisioning pages upon pages of posts to try to catch up on - so thanks for you all taking things slow lately, lol.

60?!?

I'm praying for you and anyone you have to interact with

. Bless your heart.

Well, it usually does the job, no matter how much we hate it.

I had a chest CT done on Friday, trying to see if there's something else going on they can treat.

Got two roosters butchered yesterday, and going to sell off 8-10 pullets/hens this afternoon. this week I'll work on getting the rest of the cockerels dispatched and setting up breeding pens.

Any results on the CT yet?

Wondered if you might have gone to the big poultry swap event in Eugene last weekend - or maybe planning to attend the Corvallis or Lebanon ones later on??

Vicks has been a trusted friend since I was a little girl. I even put a bit in a cup hot water for a puppy recovering from pneumonia. My bedroom smelled like Vicks - we both had cleared nasal passages. Incidentally, the Vicks & hot water was in the large pen but the puppy was in a cardboard corral (on a dog heating pad). He got benefit from the fumes but, could not get near it.

Even I think that is strange.
Right? and I ate a lot of stuff as a kiddo---dog food and play dough come to mind....

Chest CT was basically unremarkable. Showed evidence of my chronic disease, but nothing new or "treatable". Sigh.

going up to Portland next week for a "neuropsych eval"....that should be interesting. Hopefully they can either help me stay on disability, or help me go back to work.

OGM--I don't do those big swaps. I tried to get involved in one a few years ago, but the person running them is way over the top for me. I decided to just do my own thing here locally. They've also gotten so big, it's overwhelming for me. I can't do that many people any more, I go into shut down mode.

Blooie, sorry about the latest bug. Vicks, mucinex, Nyquil, these are all good things

Honey wrenched his knee over the weekend. Saw his Dr and got a week off work. So, he's home with me---joy. It's not that I don't love the man to pieces, you all know that. But having him home all day, when it's so rainy, makes the house get smaller...and smaller....and smaller.
