I feel the same way about syrup Phil...they can keep that flavored water, give me the real deal!
Phil that all sounds delicious - I would eat it gladly - no need for fancy veggies(ick) but a chocolate malted would be a good finish.
Right? and I ate a lot of stuff as a kiddo---dog food and play dough come to mind....
Chest CT was basically unremarkable. Showed evidence of my chronic disease, but nothing new or "treatable". Sigh.
going up to Portland next week for a "neuropsych eval"....that should be interesting. Hopefully they can either help me stay on disability, or help me go back to work.
OGM--I don't do those big swaps. I tried to get involved in one a few years ago, but the person running them is way over the top for me. I decided to just do my own thing here locally. They've also gotten so big, it's overwhelming for me. I can't do that many people any more, I go into shut down mode.
Blooie, sorry about the latest bug. Vicks, mucinex, Nyquil, these are all good things![]()
Honey wrenched his knee over the weekend. Saw his Dr and got a week off work. So, he's home with me---joy. It's not that I don't love the man to pieces, you all know that. But having him home all day, when it's so rainy, makes the house get smaller...and smaller....and smaller.
It takes 30 days for the old sperm to completely die off.Is it weird that I know exactly what you mean by "iffy but better"? I hate it when they ask "how's your breathing?" compared to what? How I want to be? How I was 5 years ago? How I was when I had the flu? Compared to yesterday? Can we just go with it stinks?
Grrr...
I did get a few hens pulled out for a breeding pen last night. the little Silkie rooster I want to put in with them wasn't where I could catch him, so they're just going to set by themselves for a bit. I planned to give them a 2 week cleansing period anyway, so I can wait a bit to put him in with them.
Raining and swampy today. Sigh.
I know I may be risking a few mixed chicks, but mine are mixes anyway. The roosters they've been in with are different enough I'll easily be able to tell if the Silkie is the father or not. The pen is being set up for red sex link chicks (Delaware and light Brahma hens and a buff/reddish silkie rooster), so any not from the Silkie will be grown out to sell as point of lay pullets. I'll be able to ID the father from comb, leg color, beard, etc and have a decent idea as to egg color, that's what most of my customers are interested in anyway. It takes 30 days for the old sperm to completely die off.
There is a lot of confusion about this because of a lecture that was quoted a couple of years ago or so. The speaker did not say that it took two weeks. He said that at two weeks 50% would be from the new male. (Dr. Bramwell?)
Don't hate me for saying this. I have been the victim of someone selling "pure" Dorkings that were actually mixed with ameraucana.![]()
Quote: Seems that all men think alike. Oh, that sounds wonderful. To have a day alone, free of the guilt that something outside should be done, and a stash of good books!!! Enjoy!!
iffy for me meant it was still a little tight at times. Mostly when laying down. I don't always get short of breath as much as I have difficulty physically breathing. Is it weird that I know exactly what you mean by "iffy but better"? I hate it when they ask "how's your breathing?" compared to what? How I want to be? How I was 5 years ago? How I was when I had the flu? Compared to yesterday? Can we just go with it stinks?
