- you just made my day!

Back, unpacked, and catching up! Man, you guys are chatty! i won't even pretend to respond to this many posts except to say that I hope everyone is doing well. I have 22 subscribed threads (why do I do that???) I need to catch up on, most with like 30 or more posts since my last visit! <sigh>

Could not believe that it was shirt-sleeve weather in Omaha, Nebraska in February! Whodda thunk?? It was just a small, intimate conference with 750+ people there and folks from as far away as Brazil, Paraguay, France, Belgium, Japan, Lichtenstein, Italy, Bulgaria, and I can't even remember the other countries that sent people......and then every state in the union plus Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands. Yeah, right up my alley since we know what a socially climbing butterfly I am. Next year's conference is in Indianapolis and the year after that at least it's close - in Rapid City, which is only about 6 hours from here.

I was told to bring two formals and the rest should be a combination of cocktail dresses (yeah, can you see me in THOSE?) and "dressy business casual". Do they KNOW I'm in the chicken business? For me business casual is bib overalls and rubber shoes!! But I packed what was recommended, and the first night we got there the banquet dress was - of course - casual Western night. Did I have anything like that along? Heck no!! But there was a Cabela's across the street from the convention center so I took a little walk and did a little shopping. I had to chuckle because I wasn't the only one who didn't get the memo!

Glad we were gone the last few days though. Kendra got the nasty flu that I had but at least Mommy got her at her worst and not me. I know, not very loving grandmotherly of me, but......

God Bless Cabelas, right?

I'm with you on missing the flu, especially on cranky littles. I've got Echo home with a stomach thing, and Big Boy just texted and asked to be allowed to come home cause he's having the same thing. At least they're old enough to take care of themselves. I've got soup and 7-up, otherwise I'm not going near them!

You all crack me up. I'm going to have Sugar Monkey read through this thread.....he's the one that started "soonly" when we were playing Scrabble. It went with "perhapably".

Wonder why Honey doesn't like to play with us

We lost power last night for a few hours. It was kind of nice, Sugar Monkey taught me two card games and we played by the oil lamps. We were all ready for be at 9 pm!

Umm, Rachel, Rruunnn AWAY FAST and Isolate those boys from you! Do not doubt me on this! If they have the nasty stomach bug that's bee
n going around, It is HIGHLY contagious and one can be sick in a matter of hours of contact. Bring out the disinfecting wipes and anything else to disinfect things. I know of folks who ended up at the hospital bcs of this and it shut down my building of residents for the last 2.5 weeks. It went from local, to state to federal/CDC. So do it quickerly, Pleaserly!
Meantime go snuggle away from them with a good book or a chicken or two.
Welcome back, Blooie! Glad you could go shopping! Not sure one would know how to turn a nice gown into a cowboy outfit. Maybe this??

or this??

Just throw a jean jacket and a cowboy hat and I think it'll pass soonerly or laterly.
