My leukemia's back.

Little secret - tie a few red fake flowers and/or ribbons around the hanger of your feeder. I also have a small red scarf that I hang on the clothesline when it starts getting near time for them to show up. Both say, "Here - look over here not the neighbor's house!"

@Blooie , great article! I didn't know they would like a water feature, love to see a hummer taking a bath. Congrats on getting your certification!
Thanks. That was several years ago...some of the flowers have been changed, and I now get to add Black Chinned Hummingbirds to the list. The young man who wrote the article is now a writer for a newspaper in Kalamazoo, Michigan. But I think he still gets a kick out it when I post new hummer pics on my Facebook page.

Hijack away! I love the hummer and flowers info. I used to have a feeder up but got lazy. Hummers were quite my late mother in law's thing, so I tread lightly with them around some members of the family. Thankfully the neighbors (who grow their own Mary Jane) have what I think is a Chestnut tree. We get Hummers galore when it blooms. I just sit in the driveway in the evening and listen to them chase each other around. Spotting them can be tricky, but you can sure hear them from a ways away!

Just got the Foley pulled!! We'll see how things go, maybe discharge tomorrow.

T-48 and counting!!!#!

Good news!
keep getting healthy!

I know the hummer war cry quite well.
We would hear them being quite combative in our back yard.
We do not live at our nursery, so I guess I seem rather confusing.
We have hummers here at home, but a resident pair that chase all others off, and at the nursery we have the gardens and bees and all that.
If I had magic powers I would lift this house up and gently deposit it at our nursery.
But if I had magic powers, everyone would be healthy.

just like that.
And everyone's bills would be paid off.
And we'd all meet up for dinner at a nice seafood restaurant. That serves real seafood, none of that pre breaded, pre frozen, pre digested stuff.
and there would be no calories in any of it , so we could have desert.
and I'd have enough money in my pocket to treat everybody!

I live in my head too much.

but it's nice there, and they know me.

I have a lot of red landscape hibiscus, maybe I can plant some outside for them. They'd freeze back - but I have more.

Packing.......

Great news, Rachel! One little step at a time is the usual mantra, but getting that miserable Foley out is a HUGE step.

:yesss: :weee
So glad for the Foley being out! In my head in a sing song way I hear "The Foley is out, the Foley is out, now let's go play, the Foley is out today!" :)

The Hyacinths are out! Yes! Spring is here for sure and very late in coming to my yard. But daffodils and tulips and forsythia are all blooming get at once.

And summer is on it's way as I just had a mosquito try to bite me! One dead and many more to come. :cd Which is why we need more chickens and bats!

Yes! More chickens. That's what I say! Haven't seen our bats here recently-must still be in hibernation. We usually have about 5 flying in the back yard. We have already pulled a few ticks off the dog.

Rachel, I have a funny story for you. My youngest daughter is 9 years old. She hates the food the school serves, so everyday I pack her lunch and put it in a plastic bag in the frig. By the time she gets up, I am already at work. Friday the school called and said that she had apparently grabbed the wrong bag out of the frig. She had accidently taken a frozen chicken to school!!!

Luckily she noticed it early and we were able to get her the correct lunch and recover the chicken intended for Saturday's dinner. LOL!!

Have a good day!
