My leukemia's back.

Yeah it sucks that ever winter my breathing gets bad. Hopefully this winter won't be as bad as last. I think with the addition of prednisone it will be better. Winter is my favorite season so having breathing issues really sucks. And my 2, feeders get drained almost ever day during the middle of summer anyway. So I'm filling them every day or two. Maybe if I had more feeders I would not have to fill them as much. I had 14 hummers this year that's the most I've ever had.

I seem to have the worst time in the very early spring when the cottonwoods are releasing pollen. After the cotton starts flying, then I'm fine. But one of the things I found helpful, in addition to my inhalers and nebulizers and oral meds, was a simple scented wax warmer. You've seen them - decorative little pots that have a small lightbulb in them and they melt little wax cubes that are supposed to make your house smell good. I put good old fashioned Vicks Vapor-rub in the part where the wax cubes go. This little thing doesn't take up much space and I only use it at night, but it helps so much!

My issues are strictly cottonwood pollen related. But yep, I do know how insidious those dust mite allergies can be. No thanks! I can't even think of anyone I dislike enough to wish that kind of torture on!

I've taken as much precaution with dust mites as I can. I think mine may be molds I live in an old house. Always seems worse when first shut Windows down for winter. And then when snow melts in the spring. Extremely cold air too...

Thanks, Phi. I don't remember if that one was in my arsenal or not.

But since most of the bees here get their meals from alfalfa and cottonwoods, I dunno.....a leaf of cottowood coming into contact with skin results in painful hives. Imagine that - almost 65 years old and I can be knocked down by a silly leaf!

I have trouble with some trees--black walnut and I think cottonwood too.

There is a period of time from Spring to Early Summer where I start Wheezing.

Molds can be a problem in winter in general too.

Do you have an air filter for the house?
