x1! Extra crust?? Unheard of here! Brush with butter, placed plumped up raisins- microwave in water for a minute & drain, cinnamon, nutmeg, sugar and nuts of choice on it. Roll up the scraps into a roll. Slice into 2-3" pieces. Bake for 10 minutes. Do the happy food dance-Quietly! So no one knows! Meantime, I am up for chicken pie. Any leftovers???

Sour, Not if it makes one presentable, IMHO! A little sugar and sprinkles can make it/one look much better! My dh applies it liberally some days. Besides I prefer the heat over the cold. My guys sometimes find me leaning against the hot glass sliding door or leaning over the toaster waiting for the toast on a cold day. You should see the looks they give me when they turn the corner to find me toasting myself with the oven on.  :lau

Morning all!

I got a batch of pork seasoned for bulk Italian sausage resting in the refrigerator. I made 4lbs of ground beef and pork into meatballs. I have 2lbs more ground beef to do something with, I'll probably just cook it up with onions and garlic and stick it in the freezer.

need to purge the inside refrigerator today. Any ideas what to do with leftover fried rice? maybe I'll just sauce it up some more and serve it again. I think I'm going to try egg foo young, cause I have leftover bean sprouts and some mushrooms that need to be used. I've never made it before, but it doesn't look hard at all. I just hate throwing food away, even though here, it's not really thrown away. Hens are the ultimate in recycling! Now if they'd only lay some darn eggs.......I'm going to work on putting some lights in the coop to try to get these birds laying. I have 4 that are supposed to be this year's birds and should be laying. I'm just going through so much feed and not seeing any eggs, it's frustrating!

I put up one big 250 watt cfl grow light on a timer it stays on till 10 pm
An adding a second one....was going to do that today but now I've got an itch to go deer hunting. Although is a bit windy....but that tree stand had been up for years.....I hate throwing food Away too. But with just me and Chris home sometimes we just can't eat enough fast enough. I just went and bought some burger from where my wife works....best meat anywhere around here....going to make sloppy Joes just so the buns we have get used up....daughter coming home again today(she wants me to put brakes on her keep in the morning).
