I heard her words! I was surprised, but she's getting to be a Chatty Cathy, isn't she? And that hen was so sweet about being held. sorry about your ill hen, that's a rough one to deal with. At least i just found mine, I didn't have to do the deed myself. I'm fine butchering a cockerel, but like you said, culling a layer for laying too much is just insult to injury.
the eye Dr kind of bummed me out today. Plugging tear ducts isn't an option. He said with all the graft vs host I'm running into in other areas, I'm "probably in the calm before the storm with my eyes". He says most folks get extreme dry eyes and I'll probably be headed that way, that they're already dry but overcompensating with excess tear production. So, he wants to start me on Restasis, which he says is cyclosporine for the eyes, plus artificial tears 4 times a day, oh and you need these funky butt-ugly sunglasses with padding around the edges to protect your eyes from any wind that will dry them out, and fish oil supplements....it all got a little overwhelming. I'm getting tired of being told there are more things wrong with me. I need to remember the echo was good, though. if I had to chose between a bad heart and bad eyes, I'd pick eyes every day of the week. But it's still overwhelming. I honestly thought after this transplant I'd be back to a normal state of health and that's just not going to happen. Oh, and since I'm now on Medicare, not Medicaid, apparently I have deductibles or co pays. Funny how my income didn't change but now I can afford $145 for an eye appointment, according to the gooberment. Sheesh.
