Happy Birthday! Glad you had a good day. It's okay to indulge once in a while.

Saw the team from OHSU on Thursday. She doesn't want to decrease my prednisone, cause I've had flares and been sick. On the one hand, I'm disappointed cause I really want to get off this med. But, I really, really like breathing. So I'm resigned to staying on it. She said she would want to decrease the cyclosporine first anyway, and my level was low so I needed to bump the dose up anyway. Sounds self defeating, right?

Made soap yesterday! I used a cold process recipe. Coconut, avocado and olive oils. I used lemon and mandarin essential oils, but it doesn't seem scented at all. I just smell the oil. I'm letting it cure and we'll see how it does. It was fun and pretty easy, definitely will do again.

The person who agreed to trade beef for our pork fell through. So, we've got an extra hog for sale if anyone wants to fill their freezer

Saw an ad on CL for a chicken coop with 5 silkies. I don't need the coop, so they agreed to sell me just the silkies. They thought they were all pullets, but two are little cockerels. I'm keeping all of them for now--a partridge cockerel, a buff cockerel, two buff pullets and a white pullet. I have a buff hen and a black rooster, they might make a fun little pen. I also have a group of bantam Cochins growing out, this could be a nice mix and match pen next spring when everyone starts laying. Plus, silkies = broody mommas. I'm good with that!

We've got to spend some time cleaning up this place tomorrow. Supposed to list with the Realtor on Monday and it's a disaster.

I'm still taking about 20mg a day.... As I'm finally getting over this flu.
And yes i agree i like breathing too..

We're Prednisone Twins at the moment, I'm on 20mg a day also. Will just hold that for now, unless the lung guy wants to go ahead and try to drop it. I'll see him in about 2 weeks.

Rainy here today. Nice break from the heat, but it just makes me think how much I do NOT want to spend another winter on this property.

I've got a big roast in the crockpot, with onion, carrot and cabbage. Should make a wonderful comfort food dinner!

Hi all!

Nice rainy day here in Oregon. I'm inspired to do some Fall Cleaning....got the dining area done yeaterday. Working on the living room today, with BYC breaks of course

. I'm finishing off split pea soup for lunch, and will start a pot of minestrone....trying to keep soup available for The Locusts, since the weather is cooperating.

Meeting with the Realtor tonight. We really need to move, cause we still can't keep the darn buckling in our pasture.

Honey got a buck last night, little forked horn. Not too big, but it's some meat. I said we should bring Mac (the goat buckling) up to watch us skin out the deer---threaten that's what would happen to him if he hopped the fence again

No its an engine...... I started it today and it finished throwing a rod.
But i found a motor for it that runs good for $50 today..... I already have a couple Motors here but I'd have to pull them out. This one's already out.
