My leukemia's back.

Just on for a quick minute before I go into work briefly, then out to look at houses.

The place I'm liking better has a small orchard--I'm stoked! I could trade orchard for barn, maybe. That's been one of my regrets is we never planted fruit trees here, we thought it was too wet and they'd simply rot. I'm trying not to get too excited, it's hard to ride the ups and downs, I do better when things are level emotionally.

I am enjoying having the cows here, though. they're getting comfortable enough I can touch them in passing, things like that. I'll have to work out some sort of creep feeder system for the little steer calf especially, momma cow is a feed hog. I have feeders set up in two different stalls, but I still don't think he's getting quite enough. And I'd like to grain him a touch, but she really doesn't need it. We'll see what works out.

I'd decided not to incubate any more eggs until spring. My last batch---I dunno, I'm losing chicks. Some pasty butt, some just up and die. Discouraging, so I was going to take a break. But this morning, Honey got up and wired my new thermostat to the cabinet incubator. He's so proud of himself, I can't disappoint the man, now can I? If only some hens will start laying........

We do have some sunshine here today

. He and Sugar Monkey and one of the boy's friends are out smashing a junker camper in the garden. It's been stressing me, we need to get rid of that thing before we sell the place. It's too muddy to drive back there now. I think he's going to dismantle what he can, burn the rest, and then we'll see.....all I know is men with large heavy objects having a good time with mayhem and destruction

. I'm going into my nice clean office job to work for a few hours, it's safer there!

Okay, you got me. I'm kind of jealous. Part of me wants to go pick up a sledge and whale on the camper too!

Well, heavens, you *have* to incubate -- not doing so would be bad manners in the face of such effort on your honey's part! Have to admit, I'd be hard pressed not to take at least one or two swings of the sledge hammer myself -- something very theraputic about smashing stuff to bits!

I agree OGM, seems pointless to me too.

And I'll admit, it usually takes me a good month to remember how to change the clock in my car, lol. One year I intentionally left the car clock alone and it would drive everyone else nuts that rode in it

I've totally done that too!

Well, I got home from work and they had most of the camper demo'd and the wood burned. There's a pile of metal, a pile of insulation, a pile of foam and that's about it. What great guys!

We put in an offer on the 4 bedroom with the orchard

. We should know by Monday if they accept.

the place with the barn was nice enough, but half the land. And it had large grow operations on the three sides. The set up in back had easily 300 plants. Not quite what I want to be living next to. I do feel sorry for the seller, she has this cute little property, surrounded by that.

Anyway, the place we offered on was built in 77. The kitchen appears all original, including burnt orange counter tops

. Hey, I can live with it, it's just cosmetic. Plus, I like the idea of making it my own, you know? I never have the same taste as everyone else, I like my place to not be cookie-cutter.

I'll second that motion, Phil -- I don't care how early it gets light, do care how early it gets dark.......more opportunity to be productive with the extra daylight at the end of the day than at the beginning.

Never bothered me to drive to work in the dark.... But it did bother me to drive home in the dark.

What i like about summer here is it stays light till almost 11....

Best for getting stuff done..... And still having light to go fishing.

:thumbsup. Fishing! It has been so nice during the day and frosting at night here. I've got a lot of posts to catch up on....but I'm doing good. Getting things in order. Have a good weekend.

Rachel, sending you good luck with the house offer!

Outpost, take care of yourself and pop back in whenever you can...you're missed!

Phil---when we were at the realtor's office doing paperwork yesterday, Honey was grumbling he should be out fishing instead

Outpost, good to hear from you. Continuing to pray for peace for your family.

Dreamed about that house all blessed night.....

Sugar Monkey is interested in going on a mission trip over spring break. I think it's to Puerto Rico, they're having an informational meeting after service today. It's the first time he's been interested in going away from home with a group, so I'm excited to do what we can to get him there.
