Rachel, I suggest that you not let on to the locusts when you start feeling better. Perhaps you can get a few more days out of this!

:/ I have heard that before about other flocks. Mine eat everything I put out for them. Sometimes they will look at it and peck it if it is something new but they do eat it eventually. Last new thing was beat greens.
I have a mix of Austarlorps, Penedesenca, legbar penedesenca OEs and some doking muts--along with chickens hatched from Trader Joes and Whole foods fertile eggs.
I do have some marans and pure Cream legbars too. They must learn from the more wild ones.
Hey all.
blooie, glad you family made it safe and sound. Praying for good procedures.
I spend yesterday in the ED. I have Influenza A. they wanted to admit me but I pretty much refused. I can do this at home......so, I'm going to hunker down for the next few days. You all take care.
I was sure thinking about milking it....but that seems to have backfired. I'm not feeling so great today. Back to taking a nap, and standing for any length of time makes laying back down sound really, really good.
Phil, I did get a flu shot, but it was only last week. I'm not sure if it just didn't have time to build my immunity or what. Probably should have gotten it earlier, but I have to space my immunizations 4 weeks apart and it just got away from me.
My birds eat pretty much anything I put out there. Turkey carcass went out yesterday--it's stripped to the bare, clean bone today. Looks a little gruesome out in the run.......
Merry Christmas to you all!
