My leukemia's back.

I wasn't trying to make a political statement, but realize it could be interpreted that way. I was simply stating observations on how the healthcare system has been declining. It may have declined similarly if it had been left alone, and stayed single payer.

Here, the Lee Moffitt cancer center, used to be the best cancer care facility in the state. I've been there 3 ties lately, and was dissatisfied with their doctors, and even more with their new policies. When I mentioned it to my first oncologist, and primary care physician, they said a lot of doctors were very unhappy with the new changes at Lee Moffitt, and had stopped referring their patients there. I was told, both by the Lee Moffitt doctors I saw, and my personal doctors that the changes were due to eligibility for govt. funding under the Affordable Care Act.

Happy 4th Everyone!

I'm one of those at risk of not having healthcare next year due to changes proposed by the current administration, so I'm watching what is happening with a bit of fear.

All I can say is that I am thankful we could buy insurance on the exchange that covered pre existing conditions, covered preventive care, and was less expensive than going directly to the insurer. Got all my screening tests done since who knows what will happen.

Insurance companies are out to make a profit. Patient care always comes behind that. After working the last 25 years in healthcare, I still don't know what the answer is!

Getaclue - I hope you get the treatment you need and sail through these chemo cycles with a minimum of discomfort!
