My leukemia's back.

Today, hubby and I pulled the plug. Signed the DNR order to seal the fate of an old friend. We went to the car repair shop, and cleaned out our CRV. Pulled the battery, spare tire, and all of our personal stuff out of the car. That car has given us 11 years of fun and reliable transportation. But, with the most recent system failure, we could see the writing on the wall. It was time to say good by. I honestly feel like I attended a funeral today! So, going forward, the truck will be my primary mode of transportation. It is not a good fit for me. But, it runs. So. I will remember to be thankful for that. In the mean time, I am thankful that I have plenty of work opportunity ahead, at least for now. I pray that my body will hold up to the demanding physical nature of the job, and also, pray that there will be enough hours to allow us to save enough money for a replacement car. I pray that as the timing and finances work out, that I will find the perfect replacement vehicle, and pray that the truck does not also "go bang!"

I love fresh fish. I prefer a good mess of speckled perch (southern name), crappies (northern name) pan frying size. To me, that's the best fish God ever made. Bass, trout, and blue gills are all good, but they're not speckled perch.
I like Crappie okay.... But not better than walleye or yellow perch.
But I had a perch meal at the bar last night.
$24 and they didn't do them very good.....I was disappointed.

@Blooie , I loved your fish story.

@Phil, thanks so much for sharing Patrick's story. We need to hear more success stories like that.

I love good fresh fish. Maybe this will be the year I get a license, and actually get to use it. I want to get one of those mini poles so I can easily fish from my kayak. My BIL fishes the lake at my Dad's camp all the time, but he throws everything back. Me, if I'm gonna bait a hook, catch the fish, handle the fish, you can be sure that I'm gonna eat the fish, or feed it to the chickens or bury it in the garden! Catch and release. I can't quite wrap my head around it, unless the fish is too small to eat. (like Blooie's brookies!)
I throw most of the fish I catch back....I eat a ton of fish. But I can not eat all I catch.
It's fun to catch fish from a kayak.....:ya

Ouch!!! And frankly, I ain't the brightest crayon in the box but even I know it's still winter as long as the calendar doesn't say "July".
Yup.... We got a foot of snow this weekend.
(Although I'm on vacation in the Detroit area at the moment )..... And I just got another storm warning for tomorrow and I'll be drinking home in it.....chickisoup says it's supposed to be a big one......

actually. .. yep... I also spun the car full on sideways :rolleyes:

I was so lucky to stay out of the ditches! The driveway has berms, but they aren't very big, and it was a warm day so they were a bit soft. Which is slso why the driveway was icy. :rolleyes:

my driveway is about 6 inches wider than the wheelbase of my car. :lau

oh yeah! I got to go forward and back 4 inches at a time, over and over, to get that car back to facing downhill. :gig

Yesterday this car in front of us spun out hit the ditch and when he pulled out got hit by an oncoming car.
